This
beautiful retreat has been a place for pastors, evangelists,
missionaries, teachers, and ministers of the gospel to come for
refreshing and restoration.
Whether you want it continue as a minister's retreat, a quiet place
for your home, a business opportunity, a hunting retreat, or finally
have that space you have dreamed of for "homesteading", "farming",
a place where the whole family can come for vacations or to rally
your family around with their own home, with 160 acres, the
possibilities are limitless and this is the place.
There are at least 3 pastures on
this mountain, for
orchards, animals or building. The top is 30-50 acres of pasture
with the sides in gentle sloping thick woods. The gentle slopes
provide level places for expanding living areas or dreaming
potentials.
From
the top of the mountain, looking South, the view is as far as you
can see. Looking to the North are more mountains, (gentle rolling
hills) full of lush woods and pastures.
This
is an excellent choice for the homesteader or naturalist looking to
do your own thing. There is room for goats, chickens, cows, llamas,
anything you want. The gardening and building possibilities are
endless.
WHERE WE SHOP AND
ABOUT THE ROAD TO THE RETREAT
The owners do their
shopping in Mountain Home which is about 22 miles from the retreat.
The closest WalMart is there. It takes about 20-30 minutes to
get there unless Farmer Brown is on the road, then about 30 - 45
minutes. The retreat is only about 7 miles from Missouri and about
an hour from West Plains, Mo.
Mountain Home, is
about to open a Hobby Lobby and supposedly is building a Target
also. It is a growing town.
The 2 miles
of gravel road to the retreat, and the 1/2 mile gravel lane,
straight up to the home will be a big attraction to some folks and a
big turn-off to others. If you are looking for some isolation
and seclusion and game, this is an excellent choice for you.
The Main House
Situated in the middle of the
mountain, you
will find your new home, a 2200 sq ft manufactured home with 3-4
bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Featured with a new built in sound system,
a new double oven, a new side by side refrigerator, and a new
dishwasher.
The master bath has a
whirlpool tub, a separate shower, a private area for toilet, double
sinks, cabinets and a window.
Master bath and bedroom windows have shades
that you can pull from the bottom up or from the top down.
This home has a 52 ft covered front porch and
a 24 ft covered back porch. Behind the home, there are existing
vegetable beds, storage sheds, optional places for friends to park
an R.V. or set up tents, and lots of room for orchards and vineyards.
There is a barn with an apartment,
approximately 1/4 mile West of the main home and a campground
approximately 1/4 mile East of the main home. Plenty of room for
visitors, family or customers, giving them the privacy they deserve.
Next to the main home is a 1200 sq ft room
that could be used for a hobby area, meeting room or use your
imagination.

more potential. The barn area is an open,
(approximately) 30' x 30'
space, excluding the Apartment, leaving lots of room for shop,
animals, hobby, storage, etc.
This is the entry and patio to
the spacious 500+ sq ft, two room apartment with living and
kitchen area, bedroom, closet (with shelves), and a full
bathroom with linen space. There are lots of cabinets in the
kitchen area. This apartment can be a rental space for hired
help, a mother in law quarters, rent for extra income or just
having that special place for guests and/or customers. (The
apartment has a drain in the floor. It originally was built
to be a milk room for goats, but it turned out to be too pretty to NOT
use for guests).

What you don't see is the bathroom, and
the closet. Doors to both are in this bedroom.
The apartment is heated with space heaters
and cooled with a window air conditioner.
The windows have waffle shades for heating
and cooling efficiency.

for the camper.
Next to the bath house is a small cabin
with two lofts and room for a futon and a kitchen area, close
