we see in the first century church is also the best preparation
a Christian can make to sustain life and continue in ministry
even in the hardest of times as well as in the best of times. By
"Acts model" I am referring to the entire book of Acts, not just
chapters 2 and 3.
A Christian does not have to practice this "Acts Model" concept of
Christian community to be saved or to continue in ministry, but we
argue that it is a good gift from God to us. Jesus taught this
brotherhood concept of living to His Apostles, and they continued in
At the present time
we do not have a community. We are waiting upon the Lord's timing and
call to meet that critical goal. We do not want to mislead
anyone into thinking we have an operational community they can move to
right away. We don't ... yet, but we now have a team that is
making plans. And we are asking the Lord to provide the means by
which to acquire an ideal property we have had our eyes on for a year
now. It is more than just idealistic, it is a veritable garden of

The ultimate and future goal and vision of ArkHaven is to form a
totally self sufficient, “Acts model, Christian community of

the grid goes off."
And we will also sell our food products (for as long as conditions

What one says is tempered by how it was said. I tend to be
pretty outspoken and often have to back track to make sure I
said it in love, and even more-so than that ... that it was the
heart and will of God that was spoken. Oh meeeee....
In the 50's I served 3 years in the Army. In the 70's I was the
main leader in the John Birch Society in St. Louis, and I ran for
political office and ran campaigns there. To say the least, I
was a radical right wing, conservative, Christian Patriot. And I
still am willing to lay down my life for my country and my Jesus.
Whatever I do I do it all the way.
Today I see our beloved nation as lost and irredeemable. Neither
restoring the constitution, stopping abortions and gay rights and gun
confiscation, nor revolution can change that. There is a great
falling away in Christendom, and there is no reversing that either.
It's the prophetic times we are in....
We are in that prophetic time that immediately precedes the 70 weeks
of Daniel we are tobogganing into ... in my opinion. I no longer
involve myself in social or political matters (and best I can tell,
neither Jesus nor His Apostles did either). I still love my
country but my focus is now entirely on the Kingdom that is eternal
and on the saints that inhabit that Kingdom; the Kingdom of God.
I speak out against all the false doctrines and heresies in the
church, but not against corruption in our government, but I do vote
(for the lesser of two evils it would seem). We are in that
prophetic time. To do so is to not help anything and potentially
target God's saints.
I was called to protect them with the truth of what I speak of here.
In 1974 the Lord told me, "Feed My sheep" in preparation for an
economic and social crash that is coming. I have done that with
all my energy for these many years, spiritually, mentally and
physically. In 74 & 84 & 94 no one believed my message. In
2004 some began to believe my message, but by 2014 millions are
calling themselves Preppers and Survivalists. It's the prophetic
time for that message.
Survivalists tend to be very self centered ... "kill them all, let God
sort them out" ... some say. That is the infamous quote of a
Pope during the time of the inquisition that these patriots(?) have
taken up. Christian Survivalism is an oxymoron, or at least a
serious contradiction of terms. And even the term Prepper is
often short sighted. Most Survivalists and Preppers are fear
driven and are preparing for anticipated short term disasters.
But things will get even worse before we go into the official
Tribulation period, and then go downhill from there ... for those who
haven't let Jesus hide them. And then after the Tribulation
comes the Millennium ... and then eternity. So trying to save
our constitution and Republic is like trying to put a fire out on a
gasoline soaked straw scarecrow. Even if we save it, what will
Will Prove To Be
the “Worst of Times”
… according to Matthew 24: 37-39
keep looking for better ways for end-time Christians to hide in plain sight,to go underground and become
invisible to the coming Antichrist system; when that day comes.
to most folks such talk is silly, and will contentiously
exclaim, "that's stupid!" They rage at us! And many of them are
Christians. Go figure.
But many Bible believers
do know a time of persecution is
coming, and most probably in our lifetime. Not just in China and
other far away places, but in our beloved America as well; in
the land of the free. We just never thought about defending the
idea of taking care of ourselves before, by
hiding in plain sight;when that day comes,
Think about it this way. Going
underground is in fact hiding from an enemy, and hiding in plain
sight is one such tactic.
Many Preppers and Survivalists
are working towards being prepared for hard times, whether short
term (as in a crash of the economy) or long term (as in the
seven year tribulation). Of course, a lot depends on the
eschatological belief system one
prefers to believe as to how (or if)
they prepare. Whatever our end-time beliefs are, we all are
taking the risk that the eschatology we prefer to believe is correct, and then
we subconsciously base all our planning on that. And whether we
realize it or not, we all plan that way. I have written
other articles on that subject, so I won't write at length
about it here.
The Best of
Times vs The Worst of Times
Of course I am making a play on a
quote we all know from the famous book by Charles Dickens called
"A Tale of Two Cities," as I bring out a Scriptural truth here.
Have you noticed that Jesus
said He will come at a time that seems most unlikely to
Christians, and certainly to the world. It seems confusing and
contradictory to say
the best of times can in
fact be the worst of times; it
depends on whether you are a discerning, mature Christian or
not. The discerning will have understanding and will prepare.
(the oblivious) and the
silent will lead the blind to
"In the End, we
will remember not the words of our enemies,
but the silence of our friends." ~Martin Luther
Let me explain that
comparison by referring to these verses in Matthew 24 and 1
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the
Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were
eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the
day that Noah entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so
shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
In verse 39 Jesus
said people would be enjoying their prosperity and peaceful
times; eating, drinking and marrying and going on as if nothing
sinister was happening, right up to the day He breaks up their
party-- big time.
1 But of the
times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write
yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh
as a thief in the night.
3 For when they
shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh
upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall
4 But ye,
brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake
you as a thief.
5 Ye are all
the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not
of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let
us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that
sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken
in the night.
8 But let us,
who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of
faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath
not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord
10 Who died for
us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together
comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as
also ye do. ~1 Thessalonians 5
According to these passages Jesus will come in what seems to
the world like the best of times when there is peace and
safety, and not what we perceive to be, the worst of times,
when we so desperately need Him to rescue us. That's
still as clear as mud, so let me show you what many
Premillennial Christians are already saying.
Jesus said He was coming at an hour 'you do not expect,' and He
also gave specific signs to watch for; saying 'when these things
begin to take
place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your
redemption is drawing near. And as we have seen, what seems to
be the best of times when there is peace and safety, will in
fact be the worst of times, because it will be the Antichrist
who brings this deceptive peace and safety. Who will expect
Jesus to appear in the sky to rapture us when things are really
going great? This peace and prosperity will blind many.
Most Christian Preppers believe that the Antichrist system will
progressively replace all world currencies with a one-world
currency. (I wrote a popular article
on this years ago that you might want to see.) The
conspiratorial process of bringing down all the currencies in
the world will bring hard economic times. But once the one-world
currency has been in place for awhile, great prosperity and
peace will spread world-wide.
Then comes the contract. "Dear World citizen, it is now
necessary to establish World Unity, and to show our
appreciation and loyalty to our beloved world president who
came as a God to established this peace and unity out of chaos
and deprivation." So these brief "best of times" for the
world turn out to be the dreaded "worst of times" for
discerning Christians. This is what Bible prophecy is
warning us about, is it not?
"Peace if possible, truth at all costs." ~Martin Luther
Any erroneous teachings we prefer to believe; I'm talking
about our eschatological beliefs...can kill us. So, what will
you do with this warning? Ignore it? Be offended? That
prophecy is just too negative. Pay no attention to it! Or are
you not a bit sure what you should do? But it is now clear
that what we all must do (now that our eyes have been opened)
is plead with God to make it clear to us just where He would
have us, and what He would have us do. (Jesus is our Ark).
"Oh well, I chose to believe that God will protect me just like
He did Moses in the wilderness."
But why did God protect Moses in the wilderness?
The reason was obvious! God protected them because, (don't miss
this point) they were where God led them (by the pillar of fire
by night and the pillar of smoke by day). Your survival may be
contingent upon you being where God has chosen to protect you.
It is presumptuous to assume God will protect you if you chose
to go where your career or your interests lead you rather than
where He wants you to be.
May I say lovingly and cautiously that we really hope the
pre-tribulation rapture teaching is correct. But what if they
are wrong? Millions could die because of trusting completely
in a belief that left them naked in a fire storm.
"Prophetic Warnings Are Not Meant to Demoralize You.
THEY'RE MEANT TO SAVE YOU!"
for most believers, that's their take on prophecy. It's just
too negative! Who needs it! Most of us have enough
trouble plaguing our lives without having to sit through a
sermon on prophecy that's all about doom and gloom!
danger sign is not meant to demoralize anyone. Nor is
prophecy. The purpose of both is to save us from harm - to
rescue us and our loved ones from catastrophe." ~Douglas
Shearer – Urban Hope Ministries
Jesus said the
season of His return would be distinguishable, and in fact
commands that we be watchful and in prayer; to encourage each
other all the more as that Day approaches. It is possible, is it
not, for American Christians to come into a time of tribulation
when true believers will be killed or imprisoned for remaining
faithful to Jesus.
So, how does one
prepare for such oppressive times?
We have to consider
all the areas of preparation to truly be prepared both
physically and spiritually; and emotionally. A lot of people
will break down emotionally when victimized by various pressures
for an extended time; something many American soldiers have
experienced in combat. Remaining in God's word, staying humble
before Him, and putting aside the temptations of our
materialistic environment will be paramount to being attuned as
to where He would lead us.
in plain view...lately I have been considering some old terms
that were around before the word "Prepper" became so popular.
It may be a toss-up as to which term is the most
controversial, Prepper or Homesteader, but in my thinking
their goals are very similar and maybe even interchangeable.
But for sure the term "Christian Community" really gets
people's attention. That term always sounds a little strange,
don't you know! One instantly gets a little suspicious. "Must
be a cult of some kind," they say. And even I cringe at the
militant term "Survivalist."
Another old term
we should mention is tenant farmers. A tenant farmer is one
who resides on land owned by a landlord. Tenant farming is an
agricultural production system in which landowners contribute
their land and often a measure of operating capital and
management; while tenant farmers contribute their labor along
with, at times, varying amounts of capital and management. We
sure do not want to use that demeaning term any more, but it
does show us the workability of the concept. For instance, J.B.
Hunt's parents were tenant farmers and he only had a 6th grade
education. Yet he became a billionaire.
homesteader is one who has chosen the simple agrarian life
style and hopes to become completely self sufficient. They
want to make their own buildings and power sources, and grow
all their food and raise a family in a manner reminiscent of
our forefathers hundreds of years ago. This is a lifestyle
that has taken societies through the best of times and the
worst of times for 6,000 years. It works, but sometimes we
first need to be apprentices and learn how to do it. But
believe me, it takes hard physical labor and we will need
In " the good old
days", a lot of sons and daughters were needed to run the
farm. Today, with smaller families, we need farm hands
(apprentices?). Do you remember the old saying, many hands
make light work? People get sick, they get injured, and they
need some time off. A farm can work a husband and wife to
death, so never think you can do it alone. Over the long hall
So back to the
argument for farm hands (community members, or apprentices).
An apprentice in
this setting is one who may have all the skills and
aspirations the homesteader has but doesn't necessarily have
the funds to get a start. So the apprentice lives on the
homesteader's land and works for, and with, the family. For
their own peace of mind they should have most views in common
about every social, economic and political view. But their
theological views and heart desires must center on Jesus
In simplest of
terms, they are preparing for the eschatological culmination
of Bible prophecy in what they perceive to be in their life
time. Since the terms Homesteader and Apprentices are so
accepted these days, you can call your guests apprentices even
though what really is happening is Christian community.
To take it to another level, (hey let's get real) why not just
call yourself a farmer (a word everyone is comfortable with) and
call those people working with you farm hands, even though you
all are in fact (discretely) living in Christian community.
Here is my thinking on this. Let's invite like minded people
(who have no money to buy land for themselves) to help us help
them. Whether they live on your land or close by makes no
difference. And whether or not they have an outside income
source to supplement their income makes no difference. The fact
that they are helping you in order to help themselves is what
makes the difference. Together we can reach our mutual goal to
serve and be secure in these end-times.
In other words, we are talking about a stealth, underground,
hidden in plain sight; Christian community of like minded
believers in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior!
These are some ways to hide in plain view, to blend into the
ethnicity of the area, to go … underground. Just be a common
farmer amongst a community of common farmers. Yep, that tall old
man out at the "Carrot Patch" is me ... Ken! No one is sure
though. LOL. Oh, and those guys moseying out to help the old man
gather eggs and juice carrots, or something, are friends.
What Is the
Purpose of Life In These End Times?
This will fly in the face of the Survivalist mentality;
but, it does not matter whether we survive or not. What
matters is whether we are obedient to the leading of the Holy
Spirit, and whether we are laying up treasures in Heaven … in
As I often say, the purpose of life is to prepare for
eternity. Success is measured by treasures we have laid up in
eternity, not here in this lifetime. Or as Leonard Ravenhill
once said: "This life is a dressing room for eternity - THAT'S
ALL IT IS!" Ref: 1 John 2:15-17"
Whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's and He
will gather first the dead in Christ, and then the living at the
time of the catching away. And we will live with Him for
eternity. So don't fret the small stuff brethren.
us that we must accept the possibility that we may eventually
and ultimately be living by miracles alone as his people did
in the wilderness. Keep in mind that as long as they followed
the pillar of fire by night and the pillar of smoke by day
they were protected because they were where God placed them.
God provided physical protection, provision, and promise so
long as they were under His covering by being obedient to
follow the pillar of fire.
another model for us. He had seven good years to prepare
Egypt and his family for seven bad
years. Whatever time we have left we need to be
preparing for the eventuality of the coming bad years, however
many years that may be. Goshen was a protected area that
stayed green during those 7 bad years, and it was protected
again during the time of Moses and the plagues. They
were under God's covering by being where God placed them.
May God lead each of us into a Goshen land.
instructed by God to prepare a place (Ark) that was totally
self sufficient so he and his family could survive the flood.
They were under God's covering because they were obedient to
make the Ark and to go into it when God instructed them to.
The Ark was God's place of promise, provision and protection.
ArkHaven was named after the Ark model, but incorporates the
insight these three models give us.
instructed by the Lord to go to the brook Cherith, and there
God sent ravens to feed him. Then the Lord told Elijah
to go to Zarephath to be fed by a widow. God instructs some to
prepare and others He instructs to go where God has arranged
things so they will be provided for. He was under God's
covering by being where God placed him, and doing what he was
instructed to do.
When we refer to an Acts Model Christian community,
we think in terms ofIntentional Neighborsrather than the above terms
(even though most of them can be incorporated into the Intentional Neighbor
means people intentionally moving as close to each other as
possible, wither next door or within easy walking distance. In this
lifestyle each family is independent and lives in their own housing,
and can barter with and support all their intentional neighbors.
We will talk more about this further down on this page.
We all like
the Boy Scout motto that says "Be Prepared", so in a sense of the
word we are all preppers of some sort. But prepping is not
about FEAR. It's not about being CRAZY! It's about a practical
preparedness lifestyle. It's responsible living!
this to be the lifestyle we prefer for ourselves, no matter the
times or conditions. Many who identify with the above terms
live in fear and in a premature, self imposed deprivation, not
discerning the Lord's timing and will for them.
"intentional neighbors" to work with sure will be a big help.
It is hard to do all this by yourself. Building a self
sufficient Christian community is in many ways just another building
project or program. Our vision must be greater than the limits
of just being in community.

there really is a crisis in America and we all have to fend for
ourselves, will we have the will – not to mention the knowledge – to
survive? How will we handle the stress?
enough simply to know how to survive. We must want to survive. We
must know why we want to survive. We must have that core desire.
Don’t miss this key part of survival preparation that often is
overlooked. In past articles this most important of all keys to
survival – namely
spiritual preparation – is discussed at length. We make a big
point of that in this article as well.
Always! Always! The purpose of life is to prepare for eternity! So
knowledge is key, too, and that comes by doing our research and
making a check list to organize our preparation. The mañana
philosophy doesn't work here. When a sky diver steps to the airplane
door he doesn't put on his parachute tomorrow, it's either on today
or its going to be a fast trip with a bad ending. Today is the right
time to take that big first step and start your own prospectus check
Back to the
question, why do we want to survive, and how do we prepare for this
difficult, anticipated future? If we are born again Christians we
are committed to live so we can propagate our faith, and so we can
serve others and our Savior. Survival is not about us (you and me),
it is about God's commission for our lives. Consequently this
prospectus is much more than a long term survivalist or prepper
ideal. I advocate going beyond that.

is to already be there in your safe place – already being well
established on your homestead – not having to go there (making a
desperate run for cover at the last moment hoping you make it) when
the proverbial crash comes. By being prepared for a long term
disaster long before it comes, we are by default prepared for all
short term disasters as well. So, why not be there, live there, and
work there rather than making a desperate run for your life at the
last moment hoping that you can get ready in time for what is yet to

talking about a lifestyle that prepares us for any short term crises
as well as any long term crises such as a devastating economic
collapse; or perhaps being faced with the terrible “T”… the
Tribulation period. This Homesteader concept is much wiser than the
prepper and survivalist mentality because this ancient lifestyle
extends from Adam into eternity, not just the here and now. To me
this is all so logical and self evident to be true.
lifestyle we advocate can be labeled as homesteading or Christian
community, depending on whether you go it alone or together with
like minded friends. Going it alone has the huge disadvantage of not
having any backup or support. In a community or intentional neighbor
setting you do not have to work every day of the year, and it you
get sick or injured you have someone to take your place until you
can get back on the job. And there is safety in numbers. Going it
alone will invariably prove to be a terrible mistake.
passionately believe it's going to take a minimum of 2 or 3 families
to survive in the coming American New World Order beast system. Not
just for work and economical reasons, but most importantly for
emotional and spiritual support. As Jesus said, before the coming of
the Son of Man, many will fall away and the love of many will grow
cold! I know I can't keep going it alone forever. Plus those of us
who stand true to the faith to the end, some of us can expect to be
martyred and I sure don't want my family to be alone if I were to
go. The concept of “God parents” came from the first century when
one or two other Christian parents were asked to parent your
children in the event of your martyrdom.
of martyrdom or becoming disabled gives credibility to my suggestion
that we hide in plain sight by being indistinguishable from the
sheeple while in public. It might be wise to ask the Lord to
send the people to us that He would have us minister to, preferably
in the small communities we set up a ministry outreach. There is no
winning back the world or the United States, just some individuals.

Christian community. In short, the people I know who are

Terms such as
intentional neighbors and

things are going lets discuss how to make this trend work better.
lets use the word Homesteader and then suggest that homesteaders
bring in apprentices to help them develop their farm operation.
The apprentices can live on or off the property, and they can have
outside jobs to sustain themselves while the relationship is
building. In a few months it will be clear to both the
apprentice and the homesteader whether this is working for both
parties. We wouldn't say so publicly, but the apprentices
are actually becoming community members, and the farm is becoming
self sufficient and endeavoring to be able to go off the grid
before the grid goes off.

"Normalcy bias refers to the state of mind we enter when facing a
disaster. It causes us to underestimate both the possibility of a
disaster occurring and its potential effects. The result is failure to
prepare personally. On a larger scale, it can lead a government to
exclude its citizens in disaster preparedness planning.
In essence, normalcy bias is created by the assumption that because
something has not occurred, it will never occur. As the intensity and
convergence of many strategic trends is becoming personal on many
levels, the boundaries of our normalcy bias are being stretched, and
in many cases, broken."
[Excerpt from article by Mary Miller,
Director of Issachar Studies and IDB in the News Journal of Koinonia

Ignorance is not always the problem. The illusion of knowledge
is often the real problem. The Bible is infallible, but we
aren't. And sometimes one of our doctrines isn't infallible
either (considering how many denominations there are). Our
doctrines can be an illusion of knowledge sometimes. For
instance, not every eschatological doctrine can be correct, and those
that are not, are most likely an illusion of knowledge that can result
in not preparing properly for end-time events as they actually occur.
Our doctrines seem normal to us, but that may prove to be an illusion.
Again, we don't see things as they are, we see things as we are. Our
perspective isour reality. So, what are we ... you and
Ignorance is an unguarded door for the enemy to come through unawares,
so we need to learn how to guard the door to our faith like the
Bereans did. We CAN judge doctrine by the Word of God, and we're
required to test ourselves to see if we're in the faith.
If we believe we are in the
prophetic last days just prior to the Second Coming and Tribulation
period, then surely we can assume that the hard times we are
presently in will get much worse BEFORE these climatic events
happen. This continent has experienced three wars, a
depression, 9/11 and many horrendous natural disasters in the past.
What makes us think such things CAN'T happen again ... BEFORE the
rapture and tribulation period?
My 40 years of experience shows me that over 90% of the people who
will even reads this article will be either mid or post tribulation
rapture believers, or some variation thereof. It seems to take
this mindset to be able to see this truth. Very few will be
pre trib, and none will be postmillennial or amillennial.
In my lifetime over 50 million
Christians have been martyred world wide. Why do we think it
CAN'T happen in America? We are facing a series of end-time
disasters prophesied in the Old and New Testament. But, of course
we all want to live our lives as we always have.
Discerning the times is just

the church, and then to the world.

example of this normalcy bias in that time, and in the church today.
In the parable of the sower. Jesus said:

10 And the disciples came and
said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?"
11 Jesus answered them, "To you
it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven,
but to them it has not been granted.
12"For whoever has, to him more
shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not
have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.
13"Therefore I speak to them in
parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing
they do not hear, nor do they understand.
In verse twelve, speaking to
"whoever has", is referring to those who have a revelation of who
the Messiah actually is; they comprehend that Jesus is the Christ,
the son of God, and what that means in relation to His Kingdom, and
our part in it.
In context with the parable of
the sower, Jesus reiterates vs. 11 in vs. 12, saying something like
this: Since it has been granted to you to know the mysteries of the
kingdom of heaven, to you shall more of the mysteries of the kingdom
be given, and you shall have an abundance of knowledge of these

AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES,
OTHERWISE THEY WOULD SEE WITH THEIR EYES,

AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN,
AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.'

The Bible says there will be a
great falling away in the end-times, and verse 21 may give us a clue
as to why.
Do not underestimate the
possibility of these things happening in our near future.
Maybe this year, maybe next year, no one knows ... but soon.
Remember, when Israel became a nation again, prophecy says the time
thereafter is one generation. The theologian, Chuck Missler,
says a Bible generation is 70 years. Well, Israel became a
nation again in 1948, so that suggests all this can happen by, or
before 2018 ... if time is cut short.
The beautiful hope we have is in
Jesus! He has told us he would shorten those days for us or no life
would be saved (Mark 13:20), and he has promised we are not destined
for his wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus
Christ (1 Thes 5:9).
Think on that!

the Lord's timing is quite a discipline and calls for steadfastness
of faith. What a wonderful gift from the Lord that He would
give us such times to mature us in Him all the more. No matter what
minute, hour or day or circumstance ... our desire is to be exactly
where the Lord tells me to be. We pray that He will keep us
obedient, and we pray that for the body of Christ.
Even if the
Lord has given you visions and has spoken to you of disaster coming

visions and has spoken to you of a day when He will command you to

flesh, we could easily try to protect ourselves and leave the city
for a "safe" place before the Lord tells us to leave, but what a
ridiculous scenario that would be! The only protected place is
to be in the center of the will of the Lord. We do believe the Lord
is having some people leave certain areas and go to other areas, but
for some, He will give that command at a later date. The
reason we are not in community yet is because the timing for us is
not right ... yet!
sends us to preach the Gospel, and we pray that none of you abandon
that in anticipation of needing to go to a safe place. Each
person has to do what the Lord tells them to do, obedience is
everything. He may tell someone to remain and preach the
Gospel, even at the cost of their life. Paul could attest to
that. We are not to fear. We are to trust in the Lord.
those who have gone to remote areas and are preparing to get off the
grid before the grid goes off, are not where God was going to send
them, and they didn't leave when God wanted them to. Spiritual
preparation preempts physical preparation. So such fear/anxiety
driven preparation will actually prove to be a disaster for some.
mean that we must believe Abba still speaks to His children today,
and we must know His voice, and we must be obedient to do what He
directs us to do. We heard the testimony of a friend who was working
in one of those towers in NY. The Lord told him to quite his
lucrative job and go home. The office staff berated him, told
him he was a fool. But two days later (on 911) they were all
dead, and he was home safe and sound. being in the center of
God's will is the safest place on earth.
this Acts model also includes the house church fellowship (with no
overhead, no salaries, no order of service, and no hierarchy ...
just community fellowship. 1 Corinthians 14: 26-40 lets us see
inside a church service up close and personal. We do not speak
against "church" buildings (keeping in mind that the church is made
up of Christians, not a building) and all that, but we do warn that
perhaps thousands of "churches" will unfortunately have to close in
the next few years due to lack of funds in these financially
difficult times. Hopefully that will encourage those congregations
to go back to the Acts Model for the house church and Christian

camp invites a challenge from the government or from militant bands

defense, and at least in northwest Arkansas most rural people have
Deer guns, and Deer are plentiful here. Most people, who were kind
and law abiding before they became desperate, will welcome the
opportunity to do the right thing. And as you know, the Bible is
replete with testimonies of Divine protection and provision.
And so is history. Here are some examples:
John Brenz, friend of
Martin Luther, remembered this verse from 1 Kings while hiding from
the Spanish Cavalry. Emperor Charles V repeatedly tried to
assassinate him, and on one occasion Brenz barely heard of the plot
in time to grab a loaf of bread and duck into his neighbor's
hayloft. There he hid fourteen days. The bread was
quickly gone, but the Lord sent a hen who showed up and laid an egg
each day for fourteen days. In this way Brenz was kept alive.
On the fifteenth day the chicken didn't come, and the reformer
wondered what he would do. But from the street below came the
cries, "The cavalrymen are gone at last."
In a similar way, a dog
provided for the needs of another reformer, John Craig, who was
arrested during the Inquisition. On the eve of his scheduled
execution, Craig escaped, but while fleeing through the Italian
backcountry, he ran out of food and money. Suddenly a dog
approached him, a purse in its mouth. Craig tried to drive the
animal away; but the dog persisted in bringing the purse to Craig.
In it was enough money to take him to freedom.
Robert Bruce of Scotland
was running for his life, fleeing persecutors. He ducked into a
small cave, and a spider immediately appeared and spun a web over
the opening. Bruce's pursuers fanned across the landscape,
knowing he was near. Two of them approached the cave, and one
of the men started to go in. The other one stopped him,
saying, "He could never have gotten in there without breaking that
spider's web." Bruce breathed this prayer, "O God, I thank Thee that
in the tiny bowels of a spider you can place for me a shelter."
Ravens, chickens, dogs,
spiders, and creatures great and small -- as Jesus once said of a
donkey, the Master has need of them.
The militant armed camp
mentality does not have any Bible support at all, but reasonable
self defense does. Anxiety and fear are not of God, but
operating out of the fruit of the Spirit and the Beatitudes is.
We put more emphasis on growing food than on storing or stockpiling
huge stashes of food, water and supplies.
-- He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also

 It is written: `And he was numbered with the transgressors' ;
and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is
written about me is reaching its fulfillment. The disciples
said, "See, Lord, here are two swords." "That is enough," he
two swords among 12 men was considered enough. Remember, this is a
(as a general rule) horde food and supplies and arm themselves to
protect their stuff. In contrast, Survivors are able to
peacefully bring themselves and others through good and bad times by
growing and making everything they need on their own property.
They know how to be totally self sufficient while at the same time
be totally dependent on God to lead and protect them.
We love the word of God, and will

Community life each family should feel the freedom to attend the

In my lifetime, America has gone through a depression and several
wars. In early American history three wars were fought on this
continent. And even as you read this message, millions of Christians
in China and other nations are under terrible tribulation,
persecution, and martyrdom this very day. In my lifetime at least
fifty million Christians have been martyred. Compare that to the
holocaust where Hitler killed six million Jews. To say another war or
depression can't happen in America is not being realistic. But to say
we should prepare for such an eventuality ... as best we can ... is
Consider this scenario. Let’s say that the foolishness of the world
system causes a major depression that the Antichrist can take
advantage of. But let’s say God complicates Satan’s plans and makes
the depression much worse by bringing on several “natural disasters.”
Look at the damage Katrina and Mt. St. Helen did to our economy.
Solutions Starts With Understanding the Problem
subject and question here is; how should we prepare physically and
spiritually for the times we are in. But how we discern the times is
based upon our worldview and, for Christians, that is always based on
our eschatological views. So, our understanding and decisions on
how to prepare for our future is solely dependent upon our
eschatological world view. Therefore, the value of our supposed
solutions is dependant upon the accuracy of our eschatological views
... our worldview. I advise all of us to study them all and be
able to answer those who are critical of your views. The Lord
has brought me into a lot of repentance over the decades because I
want to know the Truth (Jesus) more than my need to be "right" in my

the Premillennial perspective it is clear to me that the Beast
System must have a One World currency, or medium of exchange, in
place before the One World Government and and the Anitchrist can
come into view/power. To do this they will have to bankrupt most
nations and make their currencies worthless … so that they can
replace it with some interim currencies, and eventually an
international, One Word currency that will probably be digital ...
similar to using a debit card ... no paper or coin money.
Many world leaders (like Bush Sr.) are
advocating a One World government, religion and monitory system …
under a One World president … a miracle working, charismatic and
spiritual leader. He will seem like, and be received as, the Messiah
of every religion on earth. He will bring (force) unity under all
That means --to me-- that this system
will allow a nation to go without an interim currency for a short
time in order to create panic and anarchy just long enough to make
everyone willing to accept anything to get back to some
semblance of normal life again. We have seen that trend start
when 911 happened and rights were taken from us to hopefully prevent
another 911. We are willing to give up rights for the good of

But this chaotic period will end after a
relatively short time, and the economy will recover miraculously.
How can this possibly happen? I wrote an

history and scenario. You can see it at
There are all kinds of
survivalists out there. To some it is a wilderness
lifestyle. To some it is to hide from an oppressive
government. But to me survivalism is all about being able to
stay alive to serve and minister Jesus Christ when everyone will
be required to take the sign of the Beast to be able to buy or
sell. You will need the sign/mark to get paid for working
your job, and to buy gas to get to work, and to pay your rent and
buy groceries. So, how are we going to be able to do that without
the sign/mark of the Beast? Finding real solutions starts
with understanding the actual problems.
Life is not worth living unless we
are willing to die for something. If we are willing to die for
a cause, then it behooves us to survive so that we can propagate
that which we would live/die for. For me that is Yeshua!
This is the kind of survivalist I am. Please consider my
research on how I feel led to survive the prophetic time we are now
Most pre tribulation rapture saints are
just sure they will be out of here before the dollar crashes and the
Antichrist comes on the scene. But what if they are wrong and
have to face going without money, utilities, and food for an
extended period of time? A depression and the death of the
dollar can happen before the 7 year tribulation starts. After
all, we had our first in the 30, and all kinds of disasters before
and after. Why can't more come before the Rapture? How
many could potentially die because of lack of wisdom? Is it not the
better part of wisdom to not assume they have all end-time Bible
prophecy figured out and take the risk of letting time prove them
wrong. Is it not better to prepare and not need what they prepared
for than to not prepare and DESPERATELY need it? Many doctrines (eschatologies)
are going to be tested in this prophetic time, and that is a large
part of why the church may well have to go through this time of
testing and purification.
Almost everyone who even reads this article will be either mid
or post tribulation or pre wrath rapture believers. Very few will be
pre trib, and none will be postmillennial or amillennial.
advocate a time tested lifestyle that the Amish and Mennonites have
lived for 500 years, a self sufficient community of like-minded
brethren living the agrarian life style … living off the grid. This
lifestyle will make it possible for you to support your community of
believers and those saints who refuse to take the sign of the beast
but did not prepare physically for spiritually for such a time.
I anticipate that most non-Christians, and many of those who think
they are Christians, will go with the very convenient, lucrative,
popular ... sign of the beast ... currency system and never show up
at your community ... or heaven.

1974, my Lord and Savior gave me my life's commission, my reason to
survive … my reason to live. That is when the Lord told me to prepare
His people for this prophetic time we are now in, to propagate a
survivor’s lifestyle … to establish a self-sustaining community of
like minded Christians for the times we are in. Premillennialists call
this climatic time the Great Tribulation, or the Seventieth Week of
Daniel (Daniel 9:24-27).
Very few Christians believed this prepper message from the Lord in
1974, 1984, 1994 or 2004, but now thousands do. Many professing
Christians are now aware of the imploding of our economy and corrupt
government, as well as the impending wars and worldwide economic
collapse. Sharks look more sinister when you are walking the plank
than they do when you are safely on deck. The problem is that millions
of blind-folded brethren still don't know they are already walking the
plank. At some point, reality will awaken a few of them and they will
have spiritual eyes to see and spiritual ears to hear those Great
White sharks biting chucks out of that flimsy plank under their unsure
feet (Matthew 13:14-15). We are talking about a small minority, a
remnant who will awaken, brethren.
Of course, many survivalists and preppers (and a vast majority of
comatose society) are not Christians and could care less what we say
here. Now this brings up another point of which we all are painfully
aware. All of the Christian preppers and survivalists combined make up
but a tiny minority in society. But as Lazarus Long said, “Does
history record any case in which the majority was right?” And doesn't
the Bible tell us that a huge majority of society rejects Jesus? Think
about it, Noah's crew constituted a minority of eight people who
prepared (estimated to be around 10 billion by Henry Morris ) that
populated the earth then that perished in the flood they were warned
about. The truth is most people don't want the truth. I sometimes
wonder if I do. How about you?
The pre-flood world population was calculated using the formula given
below. This formula was published by Henry Morris and calculates the
population of the world at the time of the Flood. P(n) is the
population after n generations which begins with one man and one
woman. The number of generations is represented by n. A value for n
can be obtained by dividing the total time period by the number of
years per generation.

I believe the Holy Spirit told me to call the church to be prepared
physically, mentally, and spiritually for what will transpire in these
end times. Without proper spiritual preparation and maturity we will
not be prepared for anything life throws at us, much less the events
Bible prophecy says are coming, and in fact, are already here.
The spiritually mature will be led of the Holy Spirit as to where they
are to be and how they are to prepare. The safest place in the
world is in the center of God’s will for your life.
At that time He told me I was to prepare His people for a coming
This anticipated depression is in all probability going to happen
BEFORE the tribulation period begins. There are those who
say we are not only in a depression right now, but that we are
plummeting downhill towards much worse social, economic, political and
spiritual time until we slide into the Tribulation and the time of the
Second Coming . Again, keep in mind that our nation has suffered three
wars on this continent, as well as a depression, a dust bowl, 9/11,
and Katrina. To say any of these historical disasters won't or
can't happen again in America is foolishness.
God is not calling all Christians into this kind of a ministry (see
David Wilkerson's books on this subject), but God is telling all of us to prepare as He
would have us prepare (physically, mentally, and spiritually) for the
coming economic meltdown. A time will come in our beloved America when
some will be called to the high calling of martyrdom, and others to
the terrible task of surviving so as to minister to those Christians
who were absolutely sure such things could not happen to Christians in
America, and to the lost who were also put to sleep by the system
To the point: we all must know what is coming down and how God would
have each of us be prepared for that time. Obedience entails
knowing His voice, and then obeying His instructions. Again, the
safest place on earth is in the center of God's will.
The extensive studies I made over a two and a half year period gave
me a lot more perspective into the mission of preparing His people.
There I saw the Acts model for Christian community and how it helped
early Christians cope with severe persecution, tribulation, and
martyrdom through the first three centuries. (I should add that when
anyone studies church history that extensively, that person’s
understanding will then go beyond the boundaries of any given
denomination or doctrinal group. And the more anyone learns, the
more they become humbled by the magnitude of how much knowledge they
don’t and can’t know.)

The Acts (of
the Holy Spirit) is God's model for His church in every generation and
culture (because neither God nor His Bible ever changes). The
Apostles simply practiced the life style and doctrine that Jesus
taught them. This model goes beyond the community concept found
in chapters 2 and 3, the model includes the entire book of Acts.
The book of Acts is more than a history lesson or doctrinal teaching,
it is a Holy Spirit inspired life style. Restoring that which
the Apostles established will require a restoration process of
repentance and reformation. For all that Martin Luther restored
and reformed, he did not bring this reformation ... this Apostolic
life style called "The Way" throughout the book of Acts. This
Christian life style MUST work in every culture and century to be
valid. Since these are of the Holy Spirit and since the Holy
Spirit is with (in) each of us today, we can accept this Christian
model (lifestyle) as being applicable in our (any) culture today.
The reason we do not get First Century results today is because we do
not practice First Century Christianity. The Reformation and
Restoration process will not be complete until we see Him face to
the book "Pagan Christianity" by By Frank Viola and George Barna.
This book shows us, vividly and painfully, how far we have drifted
from the First Century (Acts model) church. Howard Snyder,
Professor of History and Theology of Mission, Asbury Theological
Seminary, author of "The Problem of Wineskins" and "The Community of
the King," said this about this book:
contemporary Christians are massively ignorant as to how the church
got to where it is today and of how much current church practice is
due simply to accumulated tradition, with little or no roots in
Scripture. This book provides a useful service in peeling back the
layers of tradition, showing the origins of much that we today call
"church." Christians who want to be biblically faithful, regardless
of their particular tradition or church form, can learn and benefit
from the book."
I have to warn
that Barna holds to the Historist Eschatology and is heavily involved
in the Emergent Church movement. The interesting thing about
Historist is ... as the name implies, they really know their church
history. In short, they believe that (much more than
premillennialist believe) that almost all Bible prophecy has been
fulfilled and that the antichrist is in the past. They (and the
Preterist) call us (premillennialist) Futuresbecause we believe the
antichrist is coming in the future.
But back to
the book. History wise, it is an excellent book. When he
gets into theology ... watch out. But I have read a lot of
church history, so I know his history lessons are solid.
community we really mean a Christian life style designed after the
Acts model and the historic first, second and third century model for
the church. The following passages from Acts 2 indicate that these
believers were hearing from the Spirit of God, and were in unity as to
what to do.
And all those who had believed were together and had all things in
and they began selling their property and possessions and were
sharing them with all, as anyone might have need.
Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking
bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together
with gladness and sincerity of heart,
praising God and having favor with all the people And the Lord was
adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.
We should not assume that all
these first century Christians sold everything they had, or that they
the money for whatever they sold, to the Apostles. They
continued to live in their own houses (whether owned or rented) and
being the heads of their households. The statement in Acts 2
that they held all things in common (common purse) was not a doctrine,
it was what they were led to do at that time. We do not advocate
the common purse practice for our pending community. It simply
does not work today in our society (as you will see in a few
paragraphs down). This was not socialism as some charge.
They were free to participate or NOT
participate (freedom of choice), whereas in a Socialist state you have
no such freedom of choice, you are FORCED
under penalty of law to participate.

Many prophetic people have moved into NW ARK because the Holy Spirit has shown
them that this area is especially protected. There have been
numerous confirmations – Corry ten Boom and David Wilkerson
among them. You can read what both of them said

live...the scripture says that we will be known by our love for each
other. Some charge that this is a socialist principle, not realizing
they just said they do not believe the Bible and miss the message God
is giving us in Acts 5.
As a living example, the Amish think of themselves as a community of
believers. They own their own farms, but they work together to
meet all the needs within the community, so between them all, they are
almost totally self sufficient. Despite their success for
centuries, the problem is, their doctrinal stance limits their ability
to reach outside their community to minister to the physical and
spiritual needs of others. They miss the Acts 2: 47 model of “praising
God and having favor with all the people, And the Lord was adding to
their number day by day those who were being saved.” Years ago
most farming communities looked after each other much like the Amish
This quote came
to me in an email from a trusted friend on my forum:
In Practice, most Amish don't live exclusively in a communal group.
They have 80 acre farms interspersed among "English" farms. And are
personally responsible for choosing their crops and farming practices
as observed within the
(a set of rules for Amish and Old Order Mennonite living).
Having a big Christian group instead of many smaller ones will likely
attract Big Brother sooner to kidnap your children (FLDS fashion) or
flame your project (Davidian fashion). There already has been sheriffs
taking Mennonites hostage for 8 hours because they didn't have a
'business license" for their coop.
The English colony at Jamestown, Virginia learned this lesson the hard
way 400 years ago. One of the most important lessons of
economics, which helped to set the course of America, was demonstrated
in that colony. For the first two years, the colonists had a communal
garden, and in those first two years, 50 percent of the colonists died
each winter from starvation. The third year, they decided to give a
plot of ground to every person, and let them each eat what they grew
personally. No one ever starved at Jamestown again. Socialism
doesn’t work because Socialists don’t work. And as Paul said in
"If you have read our stuff for awhile you will know that I am not
just a believer in "Revival". And not just "Reformation" either. I
am a believer in the fullness of Christ's glorious Church - the
Bride of Christ displayed before all the world in her full purity
The sad thing is, we have never seen anything like that in our
Of course we see this glorious church in the Book of Acts - in
places like Jerusalem and Antioch. And we get glimpses of her again
down through history - in times of "Great Awakening".
The glorious Bride of Christ tends not to meet in 'cathedrals'. She
does not shut herself away from the world behind four walls. She is
out amongst the poor and needy - preaching the pure gospel, helping
the widows, praying for the sick. Just like Jesus was not hidden
away, she is not hidden away.
A lot of people think that "House churches" are the most biblical
form of church structure. (I am a fan of House churches myself).
But we need to realize that the true church was born in the open
She was born in "Solomon's Porch". She was born in the 'Courtyard of
the Gentiles'. A lot of people do not understand this - and so miss
something very significant.
The Bible says that the early church in Jerusalem met every day in
the huge temple courtyard - a massive open-air space about the size
of five football fields. There were "porticos" all around the edge -
and "Solomon's Porch" was the one where the apostles would stand and
preach. Where do you think all those miracles were done? Where do
you think the 'Gate Beautiful' was - where the lame man was healed?
Where do you think Jesus drove out the money-changers? Where do you
think Jesus Himself preached when He was in Jerusalem? -In the
'Courtyard of the Gentiles'.
The early church was an "open air" church and a "house meeting"
church. There was no such thing as 'cathedrals' or church buildings
for centuries. She fed the widows, she clothed the orphans, she
preached a pure gospel to the poor. She did miracles in the open
This is the glorious church that Jesus is wanting to display again
before the end. This is His beautiful Bride - in all her fullness.
And my friends, we simply cannot afford to settle for less.
What got me thinking again along these lines was this earthquake in
the city of Christchurch. A lot of the old cathedrals and church
buildings there have been seriously damaged. Maybe it is time to
leave them behind. Maybe it is time for Christ's glorious church to
come forth again - outside the walls that are blocking us from the
very world we are called to reach."
There is no social,
economic, political or government
my opinion we are in the last days prophesied in the Bible. The
Antichrist, the Beast System, and the One World Government WILL arise,
and it will NOT be DEFEATABLE until God defeats it at the battle of
Armageddon so the notions expressed in the below letter for activist
political and armed resistance planning and organization will only
walk into the enemies plans. Therefore we are in a time when
this entire end-time scenario is being staged, and there are no
social, economic, political or government solutions.
Realizing we are undoubtedly coming into the worst economic depression
in history, I also hope to become totally self sufficient so we can go
off the grid before the grid goes off, but not just for the selfish,
self preservation purpose of surviving. We intend to minister to our
own community members, and be able to go into local towns and minister
to others, even if our lives are at risk … as were the first, second,
and third century Christians. I am willing to live or die for my
Jesus. Accomplishing these two goals will have us prepared for
any other eventualities that are seen by so many (tribulation, all
kinds of disasters, antichrist, etc).
That is what the Apostles did. They were
involved in Kingdom of God matters only. Jesus said, “Give unto
Caesar that which is Caesar’s,” and so we abide by the laws of
the land. I used to be an activist, but God took me out of all that
and showed me the only solution is Jesus Christ and His Kingdom.
By nature I am a quiet spoken diplomat, but when
it comes to gathering in the core group of our community, I need to
not only really be understood, but I need to clearly understand those
that write to me. This year, a lady in NY City called me, and I
had to tell her she is a New Ager and is not saved. But she is
not the first one.
I see no comparison what-so-ever between First
century Christians and the Branch Davidian mentality. Many
people think they were Christians but if one studies their leader and
doctrine you will see they were a demonic, sexually perverted,
heretical cult living in a heavily armed fortress. Their well
publicized prophecy that they would be attacked by government forces
some day, and might have to fight to the death to defend themselves
from persecution became a self-fulfilling prophecy (Yes, it is also
true that the Government attack on them was unwarranted and illegal).
In contrast, the Mennonite’s pacifist prophecy over themselves has
preserved them for all these centuries.
Why be a loan wolf homesteader where few if anyone near you is a
prepper when you can homestead with like minded preppers?
Statistically, nearly three quarters of Americans move every five
years ... so chances are pretty good that you could be relocating
again. Obviously, moves are often driven by major life transitions,
like a new job, a marriage, or retirement. And sometimes you don't
really have much of a choice in your destination.
But quite often, you do have a choice. And that's important, because
One of the very best things you can do to live and survive hard times
is to move where the likelihood of major events affecting you is
There are plenty of places like that in the United States ... as long

The Mennonites success in Community living comes from their emphasis
on the Beatitudes, so I am studying Matthew 5 again.
That is the mindset that works for them. I have never been a
Mennonite and have no interest in becoming one (most of them are
pacifists and Post Millennial), but they do have this (just a servant
of God) Christian quality/virtue about them. ArkHaven will be
neither pacifistic nor an armed fortress, but we can embrace these
blessings from our Lord Jesus:
seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was
set, his disciples came unto him:
he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they
shall be filled.
are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is
the kingdom of heaven.
are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say
all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so
persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
God has compelled me to believe that ArkHaven is an ark, as in
Noah's Ark and Ark of the covenant...God's promise to protect and
provide for His called out ones. No one location is big
enough or close enough for everyone to come to, so ArkHaven hopes to
train, equip, and mentor other committed believers with the same
vision to set up other communities all over the world.
We will not form this community for the sole purpose of
living this life style, but to be in a position to survive so we can
help others survive when a depression and/or national disaster
strikes. But survival is not our ultimate goal either, our
goal is to minister Jesus Christ. That
is our vision.
of life is to prepare for eternity. Therefore, success is measured
by treasures we have laid up in eternity, not here in this lifetime.
I would like for the community to
assemble at least 5 mornings a week for prayer and praise … and to
schedule our day … but I also think it will be healthy for us to be in
local churches on Saturdays or Sundays. That keeps down the
gossip that we are a weird cult group, and in fact keeps us from
becoming one. I learned this from the YWAM’ers years ago (my
wife was YWAM trained in Hawaii).
It will be essential for the core
group of each community to mature in their Christian walk, as we will
be involved in hard work as well as being of one heart from God's
perspective. It will make no difference what the people we serve
believe, as we are there to be a witness for them. But it will
be very important that everyone in any one given community to be as
like-minded as possible for the sake of unity. The hard truth is
that 90% of all communities, no matter what their core beliefs may be,
By starting out with these goals
in place we will be more able to start moving into living by miracles
alone ... if it comes to that. We can’t start there, but we had
better be able to end there ... just in case there are no options.
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be
Too many are so desirous of this community ideal that they think
doctrinal agreement isn't a big deal. Sadly when they jump in without
regard to doctrine, they end up hurt. We all require doctrinal purity
(as we understand it), but we also are more comfortable within our own
culture group, so it is important to find like minded people who we
can be comfortable with to join in a community. In short, everyone in
the community must be like-minded if it is to work.
(1Pe.3:8) Finally, be ye all
likeminded, compassionate, loving as brethren, tenderhearted, humble
minded:(9) not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for
reviling; but contrariwise blessing; for hereunto were ye called, that
ye should inherit a blessing.
The smallest concept of community is marriage between a man and a
woman. Unless the man and woman can agree, they will certainly
have marital problems. So if this is desirable or mandatory for
a husband and wife, how much more so with a group of people?
The name "ArkHaven" is in reference to the Ark of the Covenant and to
Noah's Ark. Both of these Arks were covered with God's promise,
protection, and provision. Read

The Lord is certainly pressing
His preparation into the hearts and minds of those who have an ear to

My vision is to form a community
of "intentional neighbors" that will be totally self sufficient, self
reliant, and able to operate outside the system when the economy
crashes. Some use terms like "Christian sanctuary", or "Christian
covenant" or "Christian centered", to describe this lifestyle.
We use such thoughts as self
sufficient, frugal, frugality, self-reliance, and sustainability to
define what ArkHaven is all about, but ArkHaven is Christ centered and
therefore much bigger than what those words can convey.

"Green islands of survival," North West Arkansas being one of them.
Here is why:
Since I can not confirm who the five persons are who made this map, or
whether they truly are prophets of God,
I have taken down this link.
Over the years people have contacted me who called themselves
"Christians who are very intuitive," but they proved to
be New Age practitioners with a Christian front. When someone
tells me they are very intuitive I ask some questions to
see if they are . They use all the correct Christian words but
have a different definition for those words than the Bible does.
They have prophesied to me with great accuracy concerning the ArkHaven
ministry and this map. Since I do not know whether the five who
made this map are Christian prophets or New Age intuitives I have
taken the precaution of taking down this map.

All that has been said on this page incorporates our vision, but now I
need to summarize it in a minimum of words.
God has compelled me to believe that ArkHaven is (in typology) an
ark, as in Noah's Ark and Ark of the covenant...God's promise to
protect and provide for His called out ones. No one location
is big enough or close enough for everyone to come to, so ArkHaven
hopes to train, equip, and mentor other committed believers with the
same vision to set up other communities all over the world. We will
not form this community for the sole purpose of living this life
style, but to be in a position to survive so we can help others
survive when a depression and/or national disaster strikes.
But survival is not our ultimate goal either, our goal is to
minister Jesus Christ. That is our vision.
ArkHaven Ministries seeks to form a community of intentional neighbors
in north west Arkansas that is totally self sufficient. By self
sufficient we mean that we will provide our own food and energy
sources, build our own buildings, and not need to buy, sell, or trade
in order to sustain ourselves. The goal is to not need any
public utilities or merchandise of any kind because we are providing
our own. The reason is, either they will not be available
anyhow, or they will require us to agree to conditions we find
contrary to the Bible, the Word of God (i.e., the sign of the beast)
to buy, sell, or trade.
Among those who believe
God has called them to prepare, there seems to be two distinct groups.
One group has the resources to purchase all they need but do not have
the time and/or skills, and/or fellow participants to make it happen.
The other group has the skills and an income that will sustains their
present standard of living but lack the funds to prepare adequately.
I am wondering why these
two groups can't each give what the other needs.
In our family Lora loves
to work with livestock and I am the horticulturist. Even though I am a
computer professional I am also proficient in most of the building
skills and have a lot of gardening experience. Oh, and I have been in
excellent health all my life, and still am. Read my testimony
In reference to our
doctrinal group, we define ourselves simply as born again, Spirit
filled, pre millennial, Acts Model believers who have laid down our
lives to our Lord and Savior, and who believe the Bible is the Holy,
infallible Word of God. We are Bible oriented, not experience
oriented. That alone separates us from some doctrinal groups,
but at the same time identifies us with others.
We anticipate the coming of troubled times happening BEFORE the
official "Great Tribulation" comes. Even as you read this
message, millions of Christians in China and other nations are under
terrible tribulation and persecution and martyrdom on this very day.
To say it can't happen in America is not being realistic. After
all, have we forgotten that there have been three wars and one
depression in the continental United States, so why can't there be
another one? But to say we should prepare for such an
eventuality as best we can is realistic.
It will take a lot of
Godly wisdom to know what to prepare for, and how to prepare for it.
Understanding how to prepare will take Christians like you receiving a
revelatory word from God, and then being obedient to move on the
direction God has given you. We have to live it before we
can give it.
I (Kenneth Uptegrove)
am reporting on what my wife (Lora) and I feel God has shown us and
many others. There are hundreds of like-minded people on our
Providing our own food, water, power and septic system, such as....
Truck farming: Hydroponics, greenhouses, gardens, berry bushes, fruit
trees, grains,, all done by the natural and organic method. We
anticipate that insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, gasoline, and
just about everything needed to do conventional farming will no longer
be available. We will have to revert back to the way farming was
done, centuries ago, before all these things became available, and
that is the natural and organic method.
Animal husbandry: Chickens, ducks and geese, fish farm, milking and
meat goats, draft horses, etc.
We are considering selling eggs and live chickens to health food
stores and farmers markets and other pick-up points. Free range,
natural and organic chickens and eggs sell very well.
Here is an example of such such an operation. We buy
their eggs from a natural foods store they deliver to.

Intentional neighbor concept.
We will not only provide

Somewhere in the
extreme Northwest corner of Arkansas (Carroll, Madisoncounties). We are
bargaining with the owner of a remote 80 acre tract in Carroll county.
The owner (a friend and
brother in the Lord) will do owner financing for us. It has a
year around spring fed creek that runs to a pond just feet from the
spring. There is another small pond that is rain fed. There are
a lot of mature trees and good meadow grass as well. There is a
dirt grade county road on both ends of the property. To get the
land in our hands we need a down payment. So we are asking the
Lord for some like minded people to buy 3 or 5acres on the 80 so we
can secure this property.
See this 3 minute YouTube video
showing the spring and pond on the 80 acres we would like to buy.
My friend Vic gives a brief description on what we hope to do there.
Moses showed us that we must
accept the possibility that we may eventually and ultimately be
living by miracles alone as his people did in the wilderness.
God provided physical protection, provision, and promise.
Joseph is another model for us.
He had seven good years to prepare Egypt and his family for seven
bad years. Whatever time we have left we need to be
preparing for the eventuality of the coming bad years, however
many years that may be. Goshen was a protected area that
stayed green during those 7 bad years, and it was protected again
during the time of Moses and the plagues. May God lead each
of us into a Goshen land.
Noah was instructed by God to
prepare a place (Ark) that was totally self sufficient so he and
his family could survive the flood. The Ark was God's place
of promise, provision and protection. ArkHaven was named
after the Ark model, but incorporates the insight these three
models give us.

sent ravens to feed him. Then the Lord told Elijah to go to
Zarephath to be fed by a widow. God instructs some to prepare and
others He instructs to go where God has arranged things so they
will be provided for.

Acts Model Community, put up by ArkHaven Ministries.
We see the need to prepare our families
(physically, mentally, and spiritually) for the hard times we see rushing in
on America and the world … very soon.
Worse yet, we feel alone and misunderstood. The
church, our family and friends, and indeed the whole world, seems to be asleep
We are looking for like minded Christians who are
being led of the Lord as we are (being like minded), so we can encourage and
assist each other. We encourage those of other mind sets to form their
own forums and stay out of this one.
To minimize disagreements and maximize the
potential of helping form communities (including our own), we will continue to
be like the Bereans, and study the scripture daily. Isaiah 40:8 The grass
withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.
We believe in the whole counsel of God, that the
Word of God reveals Christ Jesus and His character and nature. We find it hard
to improve upon Chuck Missler's description: "The great discovery is that the
Bible is a message system: it’s not simply 66 books penned by 40 authors over
thousands of years, the Bible is an integrated whole which bears evidence of
supernatural engineering in every detail"!
We do not identify with, nor accept the aberrant
doctrines of Dominionism, the Emergent Church, New Age philosophy, Hyper-
Charismatic, Preterism, or Replacement Theology.
Amos 3:3 -Can two walk together, except they be
See footnotes for a definition
of these doctrines.
We are basically conservative Pentecostal, however
we have no definite denomination that we adhere to. But we
identify with, and are largely in agreement with Art Katz, David
Wilkerson, Leonard Ravenhill, Chuck Missler, Dave Hunt, Watchman
Nee, and Isaac Presch.
For news commentary and world view we often listen
to Ingrid Schluter, and Tom Horn.
The ultimate and future goal of ArkHaven (and
perhaps you) is to form a totally self sufficient, “Acts model, Christian
community of intentional neighbors” who live off the grid and farm the natural
and organic way so we can provide food for ourselves and for the poor and
needy. We call this "getting off the grid before the grid goes off."
We see that Christianity without community is not
Christianity as the Apostles taught. It is no coincidence that the Acts model
lifestyle we see in the first century church is also the best preparation a
Christian can make to sustain life and continue in ministry even in the
hardest of times as well as in the best of times. By "Acts model" I am
referring to the entire book of Acts. A Christian does not have to practice
this concept of Christian community to be saved or to continue in ministry,
but we argue that it is a good gift from God to us. Jesus taught this
brotherhood concept of giving to His Apostles, and they continued in these
teachings. (Most scholars agree that he common purse concept seen in Acts 2 is
not a doctrine.)
We hope you are one of those we would love to have
